Rare Leica fetches record €1.3 million

A rare and vintage O-series Leica from 1923 has been sold for a record €1.3 million at an Austrian auction house.

Bosses from WestLicht say the camera, with a serial number of 107, was bought by a private Asian collector after 20 minutes of frenzied bidding.

The prototype camera is one of only 25 which were produced to test the market before the commercial introduction of the Leica A two years later
